    Refreshing hot drinks for monsoons

    Refreshing hot drinks for monsoons

After a hot and terrible summer with the second wave of covid hitting us all hard, the monsoon has finally brought in some fresh air. Rainy days always immediately jump us to treating ourselves to some steaming hot pakoras. We often forget that we need to keep ourselves as hydrated as we would in summers. And what sounds better than some soul-soothing cup of a hot beverage with some crispy hot snacks to hog on.

You can only limit yourself to a certain number of hot drinks on a rainy evening. You can never go wrong with any freshly brewed hot cup. Tea, coffee, or a mug of hot chocolate would kick your morning blues away. We have listed a few of the best hot refreshments for the monsoon. Not to forget, the list also contains a few organic and healthy options too which would keep you fit all season long!

Lemon Tea - One of the best combinations to enjoy in the cloudy weather as it is freshly brewed and very aromatic that gives you freshness. It is also one with all the healthy ingredients to keep your health up a notch. It is a plus point that it is easy and quick to make even if you have a sudden company joining you.

Masala Chai - Masala Chai is hands down the most popular hot drink enjoyed at any time of the day on any given day in India. A unique blend of spices like cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, and whole black peppercorns are used to make the special masala. This masala is what makes the masala chai so much more delicious. There is nothing more satisfying or relaxing than a steaming cup of masala chai on a monsoon evening.

Kashmiri Kahwa - It is a soothing blend of tea made by rare Kashmiri roses, tea leaves, saffron, cinnamon & cardamom. It has recently started gaining popularity across. It is a kind of green tea that is a natural source of many essential nutrients and healthy fats. It is traditionally enjoyed with a Kashmiri multi-course but would make for a great concoction for rainy nights. It is light, fragrant, and warming which makes it a perfect organic hot tea.

Saffron Almond Milk - Honestly, this is one of the most amazing recipes that we have come across yet. The best part of this milk is that it is a customizable hot beverage for monsoons. Primarily the ingredients include saffron strands with some finely chopped almonds sweetened with sugar. The best part is you can add your preference of dry fruits to the milk, and it would still taste as good as with primary ingredients.

Signature Hot Coffee - A good coffee is the world's second-best hot drink after the masala chai of course, Duh! Coffee is one refreshment that tastes good with or without milk, with or without any additional flavoring. Having a freshly brewed cuppa hot coffee is sure to give you that extra shot of energy in the lazy monsoon days to keep you up and about all day long. A little dose of caffeine keeps you energized and counteracts the tiredness from the rainy day.

Cinnamon Hot Chocolate - Who does not love a good hot chocolate on a rainy day or ever basically. It is one hot concoction that can instantly lift your mood at any given point and time. Cocoa also boosts your immune system and has antioxidants that help reduce inflammation. Although whipping up a hot chocolate from scratch with a touch of nutmeg and cinnamon has therapeutic properties.

Tulsi Kaapi - Tulsi Kaapi is a south Indian form of coffee induced with the flavor of Indian Basil (Holy Basil) giving it the freshness and taste. It is very healthy as it has antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antibacterial properties to boost your immunity. It is a must-try from the list for a coffee lover.

SoupSoup is one of the best and healthy elements to add something hot, delicious & filling to your diet. Manchow, Hot n Sour, and Tomato are a few of the most loved soups that you can enjoy in the monsoon. Bottle gourd & Veg soup are probably the healthiest options of soups to binge on in the monsoon. They are very comforting and wholesome to drink. Vegetables are the main ingredients of the soup which make them a healthy and yet tasty option for the monsoon drink. Soups are also known to give you the goodness of vegetables and immunity with immunity-boosting ingredients.

Herbal Tea - You can try a couple of hundred tea with a set of different combinations like chamomile and lemongrass, spearmint, and peppermint, and never have enough. Darjeeling's Green Tea or Assam's Black Tea would be a cherry on the top for rainy evenings. The detox pack including a variety of detoxifying and immunity-boosting tea is something you cannot miss out on this monsoon. Ashwagandha and Moringa Green Teas are very well known as Ayurvedic teas in India which offer you a boost of energy and rejuvenate your body from the inside. Moringa green tea is also loaded with antioxidants that help you strengthen your immune system during the monsoon.

The list of hot drinks to indulge in is an endless one as when it comes to rains, nothing is more comforting than a warm cup in your hands. A cup of hot coffee in your hand or a hot chocolate cup with a bunch of friends could be your go-to for the monsoon. For some, solitude with organic and herbal tea or some steaming pakoras with masala chai and fam is a way to welcome the monsoon.
